It’s been so crazy here in DFER-land the last few weeks (with key primary races in full swing all around the country) that we’ve hardly had a chance to pay our August Education Reformer of the Month his due respect.

Check out this recent Baltimore Sun curtain-raiser from the other day on what is shaping up to be one of the hottest state legislative races around the country this fall.
For those of you who missed it, Ferguson is a 27-year-old Teach For America alum and education reformer who has stunningly managed to put himself in the running to unseat a 27-year incumbent for Maryland’s 47th Senate District. (Where is The Wire when you’ve got a good storyline to pitch?)

Seriously, he seems to have a great group of activists helping him out on the campaign trail. He Tweets and Facebooks and all that stuff. We’ve been watching him work his ass off for months. It is inspiring to watch.
What he needs is some help from the rest of us to put him over the top in the next few weeks of this important primary race.
