The Campaign: We are a group of Baltimore City Public School teachers and citizens who believe that the conditions of our schools are not acceptable. We believe that as a city Baltimore can do better. We are committed to progressive change and we believe that change will come when we elect public officials who have our students’ best interests at heart. We have committed ourselves to spending the summer helping to elect a true advocate for progressive reform, Bill Ferguson, to Maryland’s 46th district as a state senator.
Who is Bill Ferguson: Bill is a former Baltimore City Public School Teacher. Bill worked at Vivien T. Thomas where his students earned the highest HSA Government scores in the school’s history. Bill is committed to making Baltimore a great place to live and work. He has promised to fight hard for working families in Baltimore and to make sure everyone can get an excellent education regardless of race or financial status.
Intern Responsibilities: The Internship is five days per week (Monday Through Friday). You will be responsible for helping with canvassing (door knocking), phone-banking (calling people to help get support) and several other tasks. As the summer progresses and you become more comfortable your responsibilities will increase.
